Meditation: My story that you don’t want to miss

Meditation is an English word that translates to “Dhyan/Dhyana/Dhyanam” in Indian languages (north to south respectively). It is an ancient practice which actually means to be attentive, to be in the moment and to be fully aware.
As most people interpret meditation to be sitting in straight posture with eyes shut, it is not just this.
To be meditative is not a daily practice that you have to do, it is a consequence of the nature of mind which moulds itself in that way after practising meditation for a period of time. What it means is, you naturally become meditative even when you are not literally meditating. I have personally experienced the results of mediation on myself.

Few years back, I was very sceptical about the concept of meditation, even though the elders of my family always used to tell me to practice “dhyan”. I thought it was for oldies, saints and sages etc. Back then my ego used to tell me “I don’t need meditation! I’m already the best, I don’t need it in my life

” Haha! Then life hit me real hard and boom, in a short period of time I started with meditation.

How did I actually convince myself to meditate?
The story goes somewhere around 3–4 years back. I was going through a really hard time in my life and out of nowhere these “motivation” videos used to pop up on my youtube recommendation section. How long could I ignore it? Finally I clicked on the video which I remember had the title “What is meditation and how to meditate?” It was a short video so I clicked on it. Honestly, It really had me involved to the extent that I kept watching meditation videos entire day (people’s experience with meditation).

Did I start meditation the next day? Oh no! Wait for it.
